SAYA SAYANG SAYA TOWNHALL SESSION
Did you know 8 out of 10 rape cases are originated from social media platforms and 6 out of 10 of them went un-reported, with the majority of them teens below the age of 18.
Conducted in 8 states nationwide, Saya Sayang Saya townhall session is a laid back forum style to raise awareness on potential danger of cyber grooming in the social media space. The forum attended by students and counsellors is a joint collaboration between Digi, UNICEF, Women:Girls, Star R.AGE, Police DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM) and Federation of Reproductive Health Association Malaysia (FRHAM). The townhall is designed in a way where a safe space is created for students to discuss on the taboo topics of Cyber grooming. As an outcome, students are educated on the predator’s modus operandi on chat platforms, and learn preventive measures from becoming the next victim.
This project has engaged and impacted 1,500 students and more than 300 teachers across 8 states in Malaysia.
